Kristina Ricci Behler

Kristina Ricci is a former graphic designer whose work once lived solely on a screen. In March 2020, she found her way back to a tangible creative practice through fiber art, a medium that offered comfort and stability amid uncertainty. What began as a grounding practice soon grew into a passionate exploration of materials, methods, and meaning. Using traditional fiber art techniques like weaving and crochet, she experiments with unexpected materials, including bathing suit straps, Ethernet cables, T-shirts, plastics, and rope hammocks. These materials are often transformed so completely that their original form is nearly unrecognizable.

She has created large-scale public weavings and woven directly onto outdoor chairs, benches, and signposts for public artworks. Through her practice, she explores connection—between people, places, and materials—and the unexpected beauty found in everyday life. This intersection allows her to create work that is engaging, fun, and surprising.

She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in the Philadelphia region and presented her first solo exhibition in the summer of 2025.
