Artist Bio & Statement
Berwyn resident David Gerbstadt is a 2- and 3-D mixed media artist using primary found and reclaimed materials. Known for positive yard signs messages painted on found wood and for leaving his art out for the taking world-wide since 1994. Most recently, he has begun making art based in abstract sculptures and typewriter works.
Growing up, David was always building something, whether inside or outside. David graduated from Millersville University with a BA in Art. His dyslexia places him into a world that allows him to cope with society by creating his art, and it heals the trauma he experienced from a serious bicycle accident in 2007.
David Has been a full time artist since 2010. David lives with his rescued dogs and cats.
