Lucretia D. Coleman
Artist Bio & Statement
I’m a native Philadelphian who creates art as if I’m dancin’ and nobody’s watchin’ me. I paint in a manner that doesn’t conform to any structured rules or guidelines. Subsequently, my painting style provides me with a sense of freedom that encourages me to express who I am without staying inside the lines of conformity.
I incorporate multiple mediums, fiber, and non-traditional tools to create color-ific, texture-licious, and soul-full works of art. My style is representational of our eclectic and diverse global community.
As a self-taught artist since 2009, I’m honored that my artistry has been recognized with participation in several juried art exhibitions and artist organizations. Most recently during a juried selection, my original hand-pulled monotype “Sunset Tears” received First Place Award in the Graphic Art category.
“It’s my goal to present my unique perspective of a mix of American and other cultures. In addition to being a Visual Artist, I share my color-full life perspectives as a Speaker, Lifestyle Concierge, and Writer—synergistically designed to help women embrace the use of color in their everyday lives while achieving a healthier lifestyle.”
